What is Invisalign®?
Invisalign uses clear, plastic aligners to improve the position of your teeth and jaw. It provides a discreet alternative to traditional metal braces and boasts equally stunning outcomes.
Invisalign aligners are made of SmartTrack®, a durable thermoplastic. SmartTrack is free of all chemicals, including latex, gluten, and BPA, making it safe for people with allergies, as well as pregnant women.

What does Invisalign treatment involve?
Before recommending Invisalign, Dr. Nguyen conducts an oral exam and takes a series of X-rays to assess the position of your teeth and jaw. If he uncovers any alignment issues, you qualify for treatment.
Dr. Nguyen takes digital impressions of your mouth and uploads them to a computer design program. He uses the program to develop a custom orthodontic treatment plan that maps the movement of your teeth and jaw. After explaining the plan, he sends your impressions to a dental laboratory.
The technicians at the dental laboratory use your impressions to design and create your first set of Invisalign oral aligners. Once they finish, you return to Bella Vita Dentistry at Glade Parks to try them on. Dr. Nguyen makes adjustments as necessary and provides care instructions.
Over the course of treatment, you visit the office every two or three weeks and change into a new set of aligners. Each set places pressure on your teeth, helping them move into the optimal position.
How long does treatment with Invisalign take?
Most people complete orthodontic treatment with Invisalign in six months*, but it may take longer. To reduce the risk of complications, Dr. Nguyen recommends wearing your aligners for 20-22 hours a day, only removing them to brush and floss or eat.
When you’re finished wearing the aligners, you transition to an oral retainer. A retainer is a custom orthodontic appliance that prevents your teeth from shifting out of position.
